Harbin, also known as the Ice City, locates Heilongjiang Province, the North of China. It is winter from November to March of the following year, which is long, cold and dry, and sometimes blizzards occur. The average temperature in January is -15℃ ~- 30 ℃, and the lowest temperature has reached -37.7 ℃.
The Harbin Metro refers to the urban rail transit serving Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China, and the Harbin Metropolitan Area. Its first line opened for trial operation on September 26, 2013, making Harbin the first city with alpine subway systems in China.
Till September 2018, the Harbin Metro has opened two operating lines, namely Line 1 and Line 3, both of which use the subway system, with a total mileage of 32.907 km; there are 21 stations in total.
